This site presents data and information that describe the institutional characteristics of Georgetown University. In this site, you will find the following major content:
- Common Data Set
The Common Data Set (CDS) initiative is a collaborative effort among data providers in the higher education community. It enables cross-institutional comparison of data and results, including admission, enrollment, faculty, degrees, etc.
- IPEDS Data
Data on students, student aid, degrees, finances, and staffing are collected by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) via the Integrated Postsecondary Data System (IPEDS) each year.
- Guidebooks
The guidebook publishers surveys are to improve the quality and accuracy of information provided to all involved in a student’s transition into higher education, as well as to reduce the reporting burden on data providers. The Common Data Set and IPEDS are the primary data sources used to complete the publishers survey.
- Student Survey Policy
University policy on surveying students at Georgetown. This policy aims to balance the demand for surveys with the burden that they impose on our students. To achieve this balance, this policy must manage and limit the number of University-sponsored surveys that students are invited to take.
